The Baggs Passive Violin Pickup integrates its piezo sensor directly into a Superieur Despiau Two Tree maple replacement bridge, putting the transducer right where the instrument’s left-and-right string energy is transferred. That close mechanical connection gives the pickup strong sensitivity while keeping the response even from string to string.

Because the sensor is designed to follow the bridge’s lateral movement, it captures the natural dynamics of the violin while reducing unwanted finger and body noise. The integrated design also provides strong feedback resistance, making it easier to reach useful stage volumes without relying on an external microphone.

The system is completely passive, with no battery, onboard controls or power requirements. An external preamp is recommended when you want additional level or signal shaping. The pickup is designed for 4-string violin and requires professional installation.
