Favoured by Flamenco musicians, classical or Spanish guitars initially used gut or nylon strings. Now, classical guitars utilise strings made from nylon or similar polymers, with fine wire wrapping on the bass strings. Classical guitars are a common first guitar, due to the reduced tension required to fret notes, and larger distances between strings, relative to steel-string guitars.
If you are considering starting your musical journey with a nylon-string guitar, we also have a variety of nylon-string guitar packs in different sizes, which include all the essentials, available here. Whatever your musical proficiency, Riffs and Licks is here to help find the right classical for you, either online, or in person at our Brisbane and Gold Coast stores.
