A Beginner-Friendly Keyboard That Makes Practice More Interactive
The Yamaha PSR-E283 is a 61-key portable keyboard designed to give new players plenty to explore without making the controls intimidating. Its AWM Stereo Sampling sound engine provides 392 instrument Voices plus 18 drum and SFX kits, while 150 accompaniment Styles let you play along with rhythm and bass backing across a wide range of music.
Three-step lessons cover listening, timing and waiting for the correct notes, while Quiz Mode turns ear training into an interactive exercise. Smart Chord makes accompaniment more approachable by generating suitable chords from a single root note, so beginners can experience playing with a fuller backing arrangement before mastering complete chord shapes.
There are 122 built-in Songs, Duo Mode for two people to play within the same keyboard range, and a single-track recorder for capturing performances. Stereo 2.5W speakers are built in, with headphones, sustain pedal and AUX IN connections (connections only; accessories not included). The PSR-E283 can run from the included AC adaptor, or six AA batteries, and a music rest is also included.
At Riffs & Licks Music, we think this portable keyboard is particularly useful for beginners who want lessons, accompaniment and ear-training features built directly into their first instrument.
