The SH (single-coil + humbucker) layout gives the Yamaha Pacifica SC Standard Plus two distinct voices: the bridge single coil provides sharper attack and snap, while the neck humbucker adds warmth and body for fuller lead tones. The push-pull Focus Switch changes the response of the single coil to a thicker, more overwound-style tone, which adds midrange weight when pushing an amp or stacking pedals.

The alder body uses Acoustic Design technology to improve resonance through precise routing and chambering. That construction helps the guitar feel lively in the hands, with notes sustaining naturally and reacting well to picking dynamics. A Rounded C maple neck with satin finish, 12 inch rosewood fingerboard radius, and medium jumbo stainless steel frets creates a smooth playing surface that supports both relaxed rhythm work and faster lead movement. Gotoh locking tuners and the compensated three-saddle brass bridge keep tuning stable while maintaining strong string-to-body transfer.
