Used California Series Strat with Tex-Mex SSS Bite

This used Fender 1997 American / Mexican California Series Stratocaster in Brown Sunburst comes from Fender’s short-lived California Series, introduced in January 1997 and discontinued in January 1999. Built with bodies and necks made in the U.S. and painted in Ensenada, Mexico, it also features U.S. electronics and hardware.

The alder body, Brown Sunburst polyester finish and 3-ply white pickguard give it a classic Stratocaster look. Three Tex-Mex Single-Coil Strat pickups provide the familiar SSS layout, with a 5-position blade switch covering bridge bite, in-between quack, middle pickup clarity and neck pickup warmth.

The Maple neck has a Modern C profile with a tinted satin urethane finish, paired with a Rosewood fingerboard, 241 mm (9.5") radius, 21 Medium Jumbo frets and 648 mm (25.5") scale length. A 6-saddle American Vintage synchronized tremolo, chrome hardware, vintage-style tuners and synthetic bone nut complete the setup. A hard case is included.
