Great Sound, Great Money, Not-So-Great Life

These strings are perfect for my kind of bass playing style, the light gauge lets me bend the strings like no other, and because they don't require as much force to fret and pluck, I can now put that extra energy into building tremendous plucking speed. The brightness of the strings combined with the growl of the pickups on my Jazz Bass gave me the sound I've been looking for since day one, and they're about as cheap as decent bass strings come here in Aus. My only gripe is how quickly the brightness and growl that attracted me to these strings faded. My strings hadn't even been on my bass for a week and they already sounded quite dead, at least compared to the bright output of just days prior. Perhaps if you're not as much of an aggressive player as I am your strings will last longer. However, until I am able to find an affordable set at this gauge that maintains its amazing brightness for longer than a week, these will do me fine.
