Paiste Colour Sound 900 Series Purple 16" China Cymbal

Dark, Trashy China Accents with a Focused Purple Finish

The Paiste Colour Sound 900 Series Purple 16" China Cymbal has a fairly dark, energetic character with a rough, complex frequency mix and an explosive, shattering crash. Its washy stick sound sits over a rich, trashy spread, giving you an assertive China voice for accents, effects and more unconventional cymbal textures.

Made from CuSn8 Bronze, also known as 2002 Bronze, it has a light weight, medium volume and medium sustain, with a lively response and integrated bell character. The Colour Sound coating keeps the underlying 900 Series character while making the sound slightly drier, shortening the sustain and bringing the attack into sharper focus.

The translucent Purple finish preserves the appearance of the cymbal’s natural grooves and hammer marks while adding a bold visual identity. It is suited to live playing and recording across a broad range of volume levels and musical styles.

At Riffs & Licks Music, we think this China cymbal is ideal for drummers who want a dark, complex effects voice with a focused attack, trashy wash and distinctive Purple presentation.
