Meinl HCS20DAR HCS Dark 20" Dark Ride Cymbal

Defined Ride Ping with a Darker Wash and Clear Bell Accents

The Meinl HCS20DAR HCS Dark 20" Dark Ride Cymbal is built around a strong, articulate ping that keeps ride patterns easy to follow, with a clear bell for more pronounced accents. Underneath, the wash stays restrained rather than blooming excessively, adding depth without masking the stick definition on top.

Its high pitch gives the attack plenty of presence, while the mid-dark timbre keeps the overall voice from becoming overly bright. With a medium weight, medium-to-low volume and short sustain, the cymbal is well suited to rock and pop players who want a ride that remains controlled through steady patterns and busier passages.

Made in Germany from MS63 brass alloy, the HCS Dark Ride uses a lathe-formed profile, wide-blade lathing and Pressure Point Technology. The Dark finish adds a distinctive visual character, while the harmonical, defined response keeps the cymbal focused in practical playing situations.

At Riffs & Licks Music, we think the HCS Dark 20" Ride is a useful option for drummers who want clear stick definition and bell response without a large, lingering wash taking over the mix.
