Meinl HCS10DAS HCS Dark 10" Dark Splash Cymbal

Fast, Dark Splash Accents Without Overpowering the Groove

The Meinl HCS10DAS HCS Dark 10" Dark Splash Cymbal is built for quick punctuation rather than a long, spreading crash. Its short sustain and medium-to-low volume make it useful for compact accents in grooves and fills, especially when a larger crash would take up too much space.

Made in Germany from MS63 brass alloy, this 10" splash has a medium weight, low-mid pitch and mid-dark timbre. Meinl describes the response as harmonical and defined, giving the cymbal enough character to stand out while still decaying quickly. The Dark finish adds a distinctive visual edge, while Pressure Point Technology, a lathe-formed profile and wide-blade lathing shape the cymbal’s response.

Its compact size and quick decay make it easy to drop into rock and pop arrangements for sharp accents without washing over the next beat. It can also work as an affordable way to add another colour to an existing cymbal setup.

At Riffs & Licks Music, we think the HCS Dark 10" Splash is a practical choice for drummers who want a short, punchy effects cymbal with a darker character and controlled volume.
