Classic Dreadnought Power with Scalloped Bracing and Rosewood Depth

The Martin D-28 pairs a solid Spruce top with solid East Indian Rosewood back and sides in a D-14 Fret Dreadnought body, producing the strong bass, clear trebles and rich overtones that suit everything from firm flatpicking to broad open-chord strumming.

Forward-shifted X-bracing uses 7.94 mm (5/16") Golden Era scalloped Spruce braces. Scalloping removes material from selected areas of the braces, allowing the top to move more freely; here, Martin uses that construction to bring out a more resonant, sustained and vintage-inspired response without sacrificing the projection expected from a Dreadnought.

The satin Select Hardwood neck has a Golden Era Modified Low Oval profile with High-Performance Taper, paired with an Ebony fingerboard, 645.2 mm (25.4") scale and 44.45 mm (1.75") bone nut. A thinner fingerboard with gently bevelled edges adds comfort, while the Ebony bridge, bone saddle and Nickel open-gear tuners keep the appointments traditional. A moulded hardshell case is included.
