The M-Audio Forty Eighty is an 8" bi-amplified studio monitor built for producers, DJs, mix engineers and content creators who want extended low-frequency reach alongside flexible DSP control. Its Kevlar woofer and 1.25" soft-dome tweeter are driven by separate Class AB amplifiers delivering 80W to the lows and 70W to the highs, for 150W total power. Frequency response extends from 32 Hz–22 kHz, with a maximum output of 116 dB SPL.

Front-panel FLAT and HYPE modes let you switch quickly between a neutral reference and a response intended to approximate common earbuds and car systems. A custom mode works with the control app, giving you access to presets and a 5-band EQ for tailoring the monitor to your room or preferences.

Bluetooth 5.3 supports TWS stereo wireless streaming, while XLR and TRS analogue inputs handle studio connections. Burr-Brown A-D conversion, DSP crossover processing and rear trim control complete the monitoring setup.
