Baggs M80 Active / Passive Acoustic Guitar Soundhole Body-Sensitive Magnetic Pickup w/ Suspended Coil

Full-Range Body Sensitivity with Active and Passive Flexibility

The Baggs M80 takes the body-sensitive soundhole pickup concept further by suspending its lower coil on an elastomer system that lets it move in three directions with the guitar top. The magnetic section captures the strings, while the suspended coil adds a broader range of body resonance, giving you more warmth and acoustic character without giving up the focused attack and feedback resistance that make magnetic pickups useful on loud stages.

A switch underneath the pickup lets you choose Active or Passive mode. Active mode engages the internal all-discrete FET preamp, onboard Volume control and factory-set EQ contour, giving you a ready-to-use signal straight from the guitar. Passive mode bypasses the electronics and battery, leaving you with a more neutral signal to shape through your preferred external preamp.

Adjustable pole pieces help balance the strings, while a multi-segment battery check keeps an eye on the CR2032 3V battery. A 0.61 m (2') strapjack assembly, spare pole pieces and 2.4 mm (3/32") Allen key are included. Professional installation is required.

At Riffs & Licks Music, we think this active/passive soundhole pickup is a great choice for steel-string and 12-string players who want strong feedback resistance, fuller body response and the flexibility to switch between onboard amplification and a completely passive signal path.

Please Note: Due to the nature of this system, professional installation is recommended.
