Ever since she came on to the scene, multi-instrument Yvette Young has been breaking through the barriers and conventions of what was thought as being possible on the electric guitar. With her incredibly unique playstyle and the originality emanating from every note of her instrumental compositions in her band Covet, Yvette has truly taken the guitar world by storm. Utilizing a highly developed two-handed tapping technique, Yvette’s guitar playing is as instantly recognizable as it is immensely inspiring. Playing off of that same inspiration, Yvette and Ibanez have teamed up to release the Ibanez YY, the Yvette Young signature model. Based on one of Yvette’s custom Ibanez Talmans, the YY offers an opportunity for all guitarists everywhere to be inspired.

The Ibanez YY10 SGS Yvette Young Signature Electric Guitar, finished in Slime Green Sparkle, features an extremely comfortable and stable Maple neck and fingerboard. An Alder body delivers a well-balanced, pleasantly bright tone, with excellent resonance and sustain, as well as creating the perfect tonal foundation for a trio of Seymour Duncan Five Two Strat Style Pickups. Using a combination of Alnico II and Alnico V rod magnets, these pickups maintain the sweet crystalline tone of a strat, retaining all of the articulate snap on the low strings, but softening the treble attack on the high strings. The bridge pickup is wound slightly hotter than the middle and neck, perfect for full-bodied sustain and stronger attack. These pickups have no shortage of dynamics and expressiveness, which is perfect for creating fingertone for fingerstyle players, and since the middle pickup is reverse wind/reverse polarity, positions two and four are hum-cancelling, making this set an incredibly versatile trio of single-coils.

Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads achieve incredible tuning stability, cutting down string-changing time, while a Wilkinson WV6-SB tremolo offers the unsurpassed tone transfer of a 6-screw pivot system, and the smooth fulcrum action of a 2 pivot setup. Every YY10 comes with a special sheet of stickers designed by Yvette Young herself.
