Ibanez VC44 OPN Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar Open Pore Natural

A Compact Grand Concert Acoustic with a Warm, Balanced Voice

The Ibanez VC44 OPN takes a more compact Grand Concert approach than a full-size dreadnought, giving it a comfortable, easy-to-handle feel for practice, songwriting and everyday playing. The Meranti top, back and sides produce a warm, balanced acoustic character, while the Open Pore Natural finish keeps the look understated and lets the wood grain remain visible.

A Meranti neck is paired with a Nandu Wood fingerboard, which adds a warm tonal character and carries 21 frets with simple white dot inlays. The slightly shorter 634 mm (25") scale also contributes to a more relaxed string feel, which can make chord work and general fretting feel a little easier under the hand.

The Nandu Wood bridge is fitted with Ibanez Advantage bridge pins. Their bulb-shaped ends are easier to grip when changing strings and are designed to stop the pins from being pushed too far into the bridge. Chrome covered tuners and a simple water-decal rosette keep the rest of the presentation clean and practical.

At Riffs & Licks Music, we think the VC44 is well suited to beginners, smaller-framed players and anyone who prefers a more compact acoustic body without giving up a warm, full-bodied sound.
