It's shorter 28.6" scale and tighter body size makes it easier to manage and perform on with smaller hands. That being said, it could also be a great travel bass when space is at premium. This bass is finished in Weathered Black which is a matte finish that is smooth to the touch. A pair of Dynamix P & J style pickups give you great bass tone for whatever style you are performing.
