Open Seven-String Clarity with Fast j.custom Playability

The Ibanez j.custom RG8527 combines extended seven-string range with a pair of DiMarzio PAF 7 humbuckers designed to keep the low end clean and open while giving higher notes a warm, rounded character. A five-way selector goes beyond standard dual-humbucker switching, adding parallel neck operation and a split-coil combination for extra tonal flexibility.

The five-piece Maple/Wenge Wizard-7 neck has a thin, fast profile with a Velvetouch finish, paired with a bound Rosewood fingerboard and flat 430 mm (16.93”) radius. Twenty-four jumbo frets receive Ibanez’s j.custom fret edge treatment for a smooth feel along the fingerboard, while the All Access Neck Joint makes upper-register work easier. Scale length is 648 mm (25.5”), with a 48 mm (1.89”) nut width.

An African Mahogany body provides a rich mid-low foundation beneath the 4 mm (0.16”) AAA Flamed Maple top in Black Rutile. The Lo-Pro Edge 7 bridge combines a streamlined profile with recessed fine tuners and locking studs, while Gotoh machine heads and strap locks complete the hardware. A Hardshell Case is included.
