The Ibanez BTB605MS is built for bassists who want tight low-end response and consistent string tension across all five strings. The multi-scale design uses a longer 37 inch scale for the low B and a shorter 35 inch scale for the higher strings, which balances tension across the instrument. This approach improves clarity and definition on the lowest notes while keeping the upper strings comfortable and responsive for faster playing.

The neck-through construction pairs a 5-piece maple and walnut neck with graphite reinforcement rods, increasing stability while allowing vibrations to travel efficiently through the body. Combined with the okoume wing body, the result is a tone that remains focused and articulate across the full frequency range. The bound Panga Panga fingerboard adds a firm attack and tight low-mid response, helping notes remain defined even in dense mixes.

T1 pickups use individually mounted coils that deliver punchy mids, clear highs, and a controlled bass response. The Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ provides detailed shaping with selectable mid frequencies at 250Hz, 450Hz, and 800Hz, while the EQ bypass switch allows the bass to operate in passive mode when desired.
