The Ibanez AZ22S2 BK is designed for players who want the flexibility of the AZ platform with a more familiar single-coil-focused response. Its alder body delivers a balanced tone with clear highs, defined mids and a controlled low end, making it well suited to everything from clean rhythm parts to driven lead work without losing clarity.

The Classic Custom pickup set pairs two alnico single coils in the neck and middle with a ceramic humbucker in the bridge. This combination gives you articulate, open clean tones in the neck and middle positions, while the bridge adds extra output and bite for heavier sounds. The dyna-MIX9 system with Alter Switch expands this further, allowing series wiring and humbucker-style combinations from the single coils, which adds thickness when needed without sacrificing versatility.

The roasted maple neck improves stability and has a smooth, consistent feel across changing environments. Combined with a 305mm (12") radius jatoba fingerboard and jumbo stainless steel frets, the guitar supports clean chord work, controlled bends and faster playing without feeling restrictive.

The T106 tremolo allows precise adjustment and smooth operation, while locking machine heads help maintain tuning stability during longer sessions or more expressive playing.
