The Ibanez AR420 BMG builds on the familiar Artist platform with a slightly more refined tonal edge. The okoume body provides a balanced, resonant foundation, while the flamed maple top adds extra clarity and definition to the attack. This combination helps notes stay distinct when playing chords and gives lead lines a more focused presence, especially when running through driven amp settings.

Super 58 humbuckers are designed for moderate output and a controlled, expressive response. They deliver warm, rounded tones that remain clear under gain, making them suitable for both clean passages and heavier sounds. Each pickup is paired with a Tri-sound switch, allowing you to move between series, parallel and split-style tones. This expands the guitar beyond a standard dual-humbucker setup, giving access to brighter, lower-output textures as well as full, thick humbucker tones.

The 3-piece maple set-in neck adds strength and sustain, while the jatoba fretboard offers a smooth playing surface with a balanced tonal response. A 305mm (12") radius supports comfortable chord work and controlled bends without feeling restrictive.

The Gibraltar Performer bridge and Quik Change Classic tailpiece provide stable tuning and efficient string changes, making the guitar practical for regular rehearsals, recording sessions or live use.
