Left-Handed J-45 Warmth with a Responsive, Balanced Acoustic Voice

The Gibson J-45 Standard HiFi DNA Left-Handed in Vintage Sunburst brings the J-45’s familiar warm mids, tight bass and balanced projection to a dedicated left-handed build. Its round-shoulder dreadnought body uses a solid Sitka spruce top over solid mahogany back and sides, with traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing allowing the top to respond freely as you move from lighter picking into more forceful rhythm work.

There is a relatively streamlined feel through the SlimTaper mahogany neck, while the 628.65 mm (24.75") scale gives the strings a slightly softer feel than a 647.7 mm (25.5") scale. The rosewood fingerboard has a 304.8 mm (12") radius, 20 standard frets and mother-of-pearl dot inlays. A black TUSQ nut, TUSQ saddle and bridge pins work with the traditional rosewood belly-up bridge, while Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons handle tuning duties.

Plugged in, the Baggs HiFi DNA system listens to the guitar through a pair of lightweight sensors attached to the internal bridge plate. Each sensor has its own custom-voiced Class A preamp before the signals are blended, helping the amplified output retain string detail, body resonance and the dynamic difference between a gentle touch and a harder attack. Volume and tone controls are mounted discreetly inside the soundhole.
