Responsive 12-Fret Jumbo Tone with a Warm Vintage Sunburst Finish

The Gibson J-185 Century 12-Fret takes the familiar J-185 jumbo shape and shifts the neck joint to the 12th fret, moving the bridge closer to the centre of the body’s widest area. That change helps the Sitka Spruce top respond efficiently, giving the guitar a warm, punchy and resonant voice that reacts especially well to fingerstyle playing and a lighter picking attack.

Mahogany back and sides pair with a Mahogany SlimTaper neck, bound Rosewood fingerboard and 19 standard frets. The 628.7 mm (24.75") scale and 304.8 mm (12") radius keep the neck familiar under the fingers, while the 12-fret layout brings the body in closer for a comfortable seated playing position. The Satin Vintage Sunburst finish uses thin nitrocellulose lacquer, complemented by single-ply top and back binding, Golden Age tuners, a Rosewood rectangle bridge, bone nut and saddle, TUSQ bridge pins and tortoiseshell teardrop pickguard. A Century Series tweed hardshell case is included.
