12-Fret Jumbo Warmth and Response in a Left-Handed J-185

The Gibson J-185 Century 12-Fret Left-Handed brings the J-185 jumbo shape into a more responsive 12-fret format. Moving the neck joint to the 12th fret also relocates the bridge closer to the centre of the body’s widest area, helping the Sitka Spruce top respond efficiently and producing the warm, punchy and resonant character intended for fingerstyle playing and lighter picking dynamics.

Mahogany back and sides are paired with a Mahogany SlimTaper neck and bound Rosewood fingerboard. The 628.7 mm (24.75") scale, 304.8 mm (12") radius and 19 standard frets give the neck a familiar Gibson feel, while the 12-fret construction creates a more compact relationship between you and the body. A Rosewood rectangle bridge, Golden Age tuners, bone nut and saddle, TUSQ bridge pins and tortoiseshell teardrop pickguard continue the vintage-inspired theme. The Vintage Amber finish uses thin satin nitrocellulose lacquer, with single-ply binding around the top and back. A Century Series tweed hardshell case is included.
