Warm 12-Fret Response in a Left-Handed J-185 Jumbo

The Gibson J-185 Century 12-Fret Left-Handed brings the J-185 body shape into a 12-fret format, pairing a Sitka Spruce top with Mahogany back and sides. Moving the neck joint to the 12th fret also shifts the bridge closer to the widest area of the body, helping the top respond efficiently for a warm, punchy and resonant sound that suits fingerstyle playing and lighter picking dynamics.

The Mahogany SlimTaper neck joins the body with a dovetail joint secured using hot hide glue. A bound Rosewood fingerboard, 304.8 mm (12") radius, 19 standard frets and 628.7 mm (24.75") scale give the neck a familiar Gibson feel, while the 12-fret layout brings the body closer when seated. The Satin Ebony nitrocellulose lacquer finish is complemented by single-ply top and back binding, a Rosewood rectangle bridge, bone nut and saddle, Golden Age tuners, TUSQ bridge pins and tortoiseshell teardrop pickguard. A Century Series tweed hardshell case is included.
