The Gibson Firebird Platypus revives a rare transitional Firebird design from 1965, featuring a non-reverse headstock and six-in-line Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners for enhanced tuning stability. Crafted with a mahogany body and set mahogany neck, it offers classic Firebird resonance with a SlimTaper profile and rosewood fingerboard for smooth playability. Equipped with historically accurate Firebird mini humbuckers with Alnico 5 magnets, this guitar produces chime-like cleans and articulate, cutting rock and blues tones when pushed. Individual volume and tone controls allow precise tonal shaping, while the iconic hot-stamped Firebird pickguard completes its distinctive look. A hardshell case is included for protection.
