Fender Player II Mustang RW Cactus Gray

Short-Scale Mustang Feel with Snappy Single-Coil Attack

The Fender Player II Mustang RW Cactus Gray is a 610 mm (24”) scale electric guitar made for players who want a compact feel, quick playability and clear single-coil response. Compared with a 648 mm (25.5”) Fender scale, the shorter Mustang scale makes the strings feel a little slinkier, so chord stretches, quick position shifts and bend-heavy lines feel easier under the fingers.

The alder body gives the guitar a balanced foundation, while the Player Series Alnico 5 Mustang single-coils deliver crystalline highs, musical mids and tight lows. The neck pickup gives you glassy chime for clean rhythm parts, while the bridge pickup has more snarl for sharper indie riffs, garage rock parts and brighter lead lines.

The Modern C maple neck feels smooth and practical, with a satin urethane back finish that helps you move across the neck easily. The slab rosewood fingerboard, rolled edges, 241 mm (9.5”) radius and 22 medium jumbo frets make the Mustang feel more modern than a strict vintage-style short-scale.

At Riffs & Licks Music, we think this Mustang is best for players who want short-scale comfort, simple controls and snappy single-coil tones for jangly rhythm work, punchy riffs and expressive lead playing.
