Fender Player II Mustang Bass PJ Short-Scale RW Rallye Orange

Short-Scale Comfort with Rounder Rosewood Feel and PJ Versatility

The Fender Player II Mustang Bass PJ Short-Scale RW Rallye Orange is a 762 mm (30”) scale electric bass made for players who want easier reaches, a slinkier string feel and a more compact bass that still covers plenty of ground. The alder body gives the bass a balanced foundation, while the Player Series Alnico 5 split Precision Bass pickup brings thicker low-mid punch and the Jazz Bass bridge pickup adds sharper definition for tighter lines.

The shorter scale makes a real difference under the fingers. Compared with a 864 mm (34”) long-scale bass, the 762 mm (30”) scale brings the frets closer together, which helps with quick position shifts, smaller hand stretches and longer sets where a full-scale bass can feel like more work.

The Modern C maple neck and satin urethane back finish help you move across the neck more easily, while the slab rosewood fingerboard gives a slightly rounder feel and response than maple. The 241 mm (9.5”) radius and 19 medium jumbo frets make clean fretting, slides and simple, solid basslines feel comfortable.

At Riffs & Licks Music, we think this Mustang Bass PJ is best for players who want short-scale comfort with useful P/J pickup range, giving them a bass that feels easy to play while still covering punchy rock, pop, indie and everyday gigging tones.
