Give Humbuckers and Single Coils the Pot Values They Need from One Knob

The Fender American Dual 500K / 250K Split Shaft Pot is a stacked dual-gang potentiometer designed for guitars that combine humbuckers and single-coil pickups. Inside one control are separate 500K and 250K sections, allowing the humbucker to use the higher resistance for a clearer, more open high end while the single coils use 250K for a warmer, balanced response.

Both sections turn together from a single knob, so the guitar retains a conventional control layout rather than requiring separate pots for each pickup type. It can be wired for either volume or tone, making it particularly useful in HSS configurations where one control needs to work appropriately with different pickup types.

The pot uses an audio taper for a smooth, natural sweep and a 9.53 mm (3/8") split shaft that accepts push-on control knobs. A mounting nut and washer are included. It is also used as original equipment on American Standard and American Professional Shawbucker Stratocaster guitars.
