The Fender TBX Treble Bass Expander Tone Control Pot Kit is a stacked, detented 250K / 1 Meg control designed to give a guitar a wider usable tone range. From settings 1 to 5, the TBX functions like a standard tone control, allowing familiar treble roll-off and adjustment. Above 5, the control decreases resistance, allowing more bass, treble, presence and output to pass through to the amplifier.

This design gives players a clear centre reference point and a broader response than a conventional tone pot. The detent makes it easy to return to the middle setting by feel, while the passive design means no battery is required. The TBX tone control is particularly useful for players who want more control-room flexibility from the guitar itself, whether they are tightening darker sounds or opening up the signal for extra presence.
