A faster way to turn a Strat into something much bigger

The Fender American Pre-Wired Strat Pickguard Quadra Tap HH is built for players who like the shape and feel of a Strat, but want a much broader range of sounds without getting stuck in a full rewiring job. With Quadra Tap humbuckers in both positions, this setup pushes well beyond standard Strat territory, covering thicker humbucker sounds, leaner split-coil tones, and a choice between vintage and hotter voicings. That makes it a strong option for players who move between cleaner parts, crunch rhythm work, and higher-gain lead sounds on the same guitar.

The S-1 switch shifts both pickups between vintage and modern voicings, while the 5-way selector handles the different humbucker and split-coil combinations. That gives you a surprisingly wide range without turning the controls into a fiddly mess. The treble bleed circuit also helps when rolling volume back, so the top end stays present instead of going dull.

As a pre-wired assembly, it’s also a practical upgrade. Remove the old pickguard, connect the wiring (see video above for guide), and the whole guitar takes on a very different voice with far less hassle than building a loaded guard from scratch.
