An Ultra Telecaster Built for 75 Years of Progress and Modern Performance
The Telecaster began as a simple, dependable electric guitar that could cut clearly through band mixes on stages and in recording studios. Seventy-five years later, the American Ultra II Telecaster represents how that design has evolved for modern players who expect precision, versatility and comfort without losing the Tele's unmistakable character. A select alder body provides balanced resonance with clear mids and controlled low end, helping both chords and single-note lines stay articulate whether playing clean passages or heavier driven riffs.
The pickup configuration expands the Telecaster format while keeping its familiar clarity. A 75th Anniversary Ultra Noiseless single-coil in the neck position delivers smooth, detailed clean tones without background hum. At the bridge, the 75th Anniversary Fastlane humbucker adds a stronger, thicker voice suited to modern gain levels while still retaining the sharp attack associated with Teles. Two S-1 switches extend the tonal options further by enabling series wiring and additional humbucker configurations, giving players several distinct sounds from a straightforward control layout.
The quartersawn maple neck with a Modern D profile provides a stable structure and a comfortable grip across the neck. An ebony fingerboard with a 10 to 14 inch compound radius allows comfortable chord playing in the lower positions while making higher-register bends and lead playing feel smoother. Ultra rolled fingerboard edges and a sculpted neck heel improve comfort and allow easier access to upper frets.
Hardware choices are designed for stability and precision. The six-saddle string-through-body bridge with brass saddles allows accurate intonation adjustment while maintaining strong attack. Locking tuning machines improve tuning stability and simplify string changes.
At Riffs & Licks Music, we think this Tele suits players who appreciate the clarity and history of the Telecaster design but want the expanded tonal range, modern neck feel and advanced electronics that come with the Ultra II approach to this 75 year milestone.
