5150 High-Gain Character in a Compact 15-Watt Valve Head

The EVH 5150 Iconic Series 6L6 15W Head packs the 5150 approach into a smaller Black valve head built for home, studio and stage use. Its 6L6 power valve and two ECC83S preamp valves feed two channels: Clean/Overdrive and Lead/Burn. The Overdrive switch pushes the Green channel from cleaner sounds into crunch, while Burn takes the Red channel further into saturated high-gain territory.

Each channel has its own Gain and Volume controls, with shared Low, Mid and High EQ plus global Reverb, Resonance and Presence. The included two-button footswitch also gives you access to the 6 dB Clean Input Stage Boost for level changes without reaching for the amp.

A quarter-power mode reduces available output for lower-volume playing and recording, while the speaker-emulated XLR output, Power Amp Mute, effects loop and selectable 4, 8 or 16 ohm speaker impedance make it easier to adapt the head to different rigs.
