A Darker Les Paul Build Tuned for Speed, Definition and Heavy Modern Playing

The Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul in Obsidian Storm Satin takes the core Les Paul shape and refines it for players who want a firmer, faster and more modern response. Its mahogany body uses Ultra Modern weight relief beneath a maple cap and highly flamed maple veneer, with a rear belly carve helping it sit more comfortably against you. A Modern Contoured Heel also reduces bulk around the neck joint, making the highest frets easier to reach.

The thermally aged one-piece maple neck uses a HyperGlide profile, graphite reinforcement and a 647.7 mm (25.5") scale. That longer scale gives lower tunings extra tension and helps heavy rhythm parts stay more controlled and articulate. Up top, the bound ebony fingerboard moves from a 254 mm (10") radius to 355.6 mm (14"), becoming flatter as you travel higher for smoother bends and faster lead work. Twenty-four stainless-steel frets provide a slick, hard-wearing playing surface.

Custom-voiced Fishman Fluence humbuckers give you three different pickup characters without adding extra switches to the guitar. Voice 1 provides the modern high-output active sound, while Voice 2 changes to a more vintage PAF-inspired humbucker response. Pulling either pickup’s volume control activates Voice 3, the optimised single-coil-inspired sound, while the push/pull tone controls switch between Voices 1 and 2.

Grover Locking Rotomatic tuners, a GraphTech nut and LockTone Modern Tune-O-Matic bridge provide the core hardware setup, joined by a through-body Frequensator-influenced tailpiece and Posi-Lok strap buttons. Black hardware, black pickup covers and black mother-of-pearl block inlays reinforce the subdued Obsidian Storm Satin look.
