A Longer-Scale Flying V Built for Modern Gain, Drop Tunings and Fast Playing
The Epiphone Prophecy Flying V in Orchid Bloom Satin pushes the classic V shape firmly into modern territory. A mahogany body with highly flamed maple veneer is paired with a thermally aged one-piece maple set neck, giving the guitar a different construction recipe from a traditional all-mahogany Flying V. The 647.7 mm (25.5") scale adds string tension and definition, making it particularly well suited to lower tunings where a tighter response can help keep heavier rhythm work articulate.
The HyperGlide neck profile is reinforced with graphite rods and topped with a bound ebony fingerboard. Its 254–355.6 mm (10"–14") compound radius becomes flatter as you move up the neck, giving chord work a comfortable surface lower down while providing more room for bends and faster lead playing higher up. Twenty-four stainless-steel frets add a slick, durable playing surface, complemented by black mother-of-pearl block inlays.
Custom-voiced Fishman Fluence humbuckers are the centre of the electronics package. Push/pull controls provide three distinct voices: a modern high-output active humbucker sound, a vintage PAF-inspired humbucker character and a clearer single-coil-inspired option. That gives the Flying V considerably more tonal range than a conventional two-humbucker setup, from tight high-gain rhythm sounds through to cleaner and more traditional voices.
Black Grover Locking Rotomatic tuners, a GraphTech nut and LockTone Modern Tune-O-Matic bridge handle tuning and string anchoring, while the through-body Frequensator-influenced tailpiece is designed to balance string tension and sustain. Posi-Lok strap buttons, multi-ply binding and black hardware complete the modern visual treatment.
At Riffs & Licks Music, we think the Prophecy Flying V is built for players who want the aggression of the V shape backed by genuinely performance-focused hardware and electronics. The longer scale, compound-radius ebony board, stainless-steel frets and multi-voice Fluence pickups make it especially capable for modern high-gain playing without locking you into a single sound. A Protector Ultralite case is included.
