Neck-Through Firebird Construction with a Distinctive Dual-Magnet Pickup Voice

The Epiphone Inspired by Firebird Left-Handed in Wine Red brings the radical reverse-body design of the original 1963 Firebird into a dedicated left-handed build. Its nine-ply mahogany/walnut neck runs continuously through the body, with mahogany wings forming the outer shape. Because the bridge, tailpiece and pickups are mounted along that central neck-through structure, the design creates a direct mechanical connection through the instrument and contributes to the Firebird’s resonant, sustaining character.

The SlimTaper C neck is topped with a bound rosewood fingerboard, 22 Medium Jumbo frets and pearloid trapezoid inlays. Its 628.65 mm (24.75") scale keeps the string feel familiar for players coming from other Gibson-style designs, while the reverse Firebird headstock and six-in-line Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners preserve one of the model’s most recognisable visual features.

The ProBucker FB720 pickups are proper Firebird-style humbuckers rather than conventional mini humbuckers. Instead of pole pieces with a magnet beneath the coils, each pickup uses two blade magnets positioned within the coils along with a steel reflector plate. That different construction produces the bright, clear and hum-cancelling character associated with classic Firebird pickups. Two volume and two tone controls with CTS potentiometers, plus a three-way toggle, give each pickup straightforward independent control.

An Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and LockTone Stop Bar anchor the strings, while a Graph Tech nut supports smooth, stable tuning. Nickel hardware, the white three-ply pickguard with red Firebird graphic and gloss Wine Red finish complete the distinctive presentation.
