Active EMG Power in a Classic ‘80s Explorer Format

The Epiphone Inspired By Explorer ’80s EMG Classic White delivers the aggressive response and sustain associated with high-output active pickups in a full mahogany platform. A mahogany body and glued-in mahogany neck create a dense, resonant foundation that supports strong low-end weight and extended sustain. The 24.75" (628.65 mm) scale length slightly reduces string tension compared to longer scales, contributing to a smoother feel under bends and fast rhythm work.

The 60s SlimTaper neck profile offers a relatively slim, fast-playing carve that suits technical riffing and rapid position changes. A 12" (304.8 mm) radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets supports comfortable chording and controlled bends. The EMG 81 in the bridge position delivers tight, focused attack with strong upper-mid cut, while the EMG 60 in the neck position provides thicker, fluid sustain suited to lead work. Active electronics offer consistent output and clarity under high gain.

LockTone Tune-O-Matic and Stop Bar hardware enhance tuning stability and sustain, assisted by mini die-cast tuners and a Graph Tech nut. Supplied in a premium gig bag.
