A long-scale RD that keeps low-end tight and easy to control

The Epiphone Futura RD Custom Firestorm Shift is built around a 25.5" scale, which gives it a firmer, more controlled feel straight away. There’s more tension under the strings, so when you drop tuning or push gain, the low end stays tighter and doesn’t wash out. That becomes noticeable when you’re playing with a band or stacking rhythm tracks where definition matters.

The neck has a Modern C profile that feels comfortable and natural — it’s one of those profiles you don’t really think about. The ebony board is a bit quicker than rosewood, and it keeps things feeling direct when you’re picking more precisely or bending further up the neck. The longer scale adds a bit more resistance under the fingers, which helps keep things consistent when you’re playing heavier parts.

The ProBucker Ignite pickups push a bit harder, but they stay clear. They handle gain without turning to mush, which helps when you’re working through tighter riffs or multi-layered parts in the studio. Coil split and phase switching give you access to leaner tones when needed, so it’s not locked into just one sound.

LockTone hardware and locking tuners keep tuning stable, so once it’s set, it holds through rehearsals, gigs, or longer sessions.
