EMG Lee Sklar P Signature Precision Bass Active Pickup Black w/ Raised EMG Logo

Lee Sklar’s Classic EMG P Tone Recreated with Extra Low-End Weight

The EMG Lee Sklar P Signature Precision Bass Pickup revisits the active P-style sound that became central to Sklar’s studio work. Based on the original EMG P he used from the 1970s, this version has been specifically voiced to recreate the response of his well-known Frankenstein Bass and its modified 18-volt setup, rather than simply reproducing the standard current P pickup.

The revised preamp delivers a stronger low-end presence and powerful output while retaining the clear, articulate attack and punch associated with EMG’s active bass pickups. Visually, the Black housing carries the original-style raised EMG logo caps, another detail taken from the early pickup design.

EMG’s Solderless Install System is included with one 25k Volume pot, one 25k Tone pot, battery bus, stereo output jack, mounting screws, pickup cable, two connect cables, output cable and battery cable.

At Riffs & Licks Music, we think this active Precision Bass pickup is made for bassists who want a strong, weighty low end without giving up note definition, with Lee Sklar’s long-standing EMG P sound providing the blueprint.
