EMG HET JH James Hetfield Signature Active Humbucker Pickup Set Long Shaft 19mm Sandblasted

JH High-Output Response with Long-Shaft Fitment and a Limited Sandblasted Finish

The EMG JH James Hetfield Signature Set pairs the JH-N neck and JH-B bridge pickups in an active humbucker setup built around strong attack, high output and controlled low-end response. The JH-N uses individual ceramic poles with larger, taller cores than the EMG 60 design, giving the neck position more attack, higher output and a fuller bottom end.

The JH-B bridge pickup uses the same core approach but swaps the bar magnets found in an EMG 81 for steel pole pieces. This lowers inductance, helping the bass stay cleaner while retaining the tight, immediate response that keeps rhythm work defined.

This version uses 19 mm long-shaft controls and custom sandblasted stainless-steel caps. The finish was created for EMG’s 50th anniversary and is available only during 2026. EMG’s Solderless Install System is included with two 25k Volume pots, two 25k Tone pots, battery bus, stereo output jack, two-pickup in/out bus, mounting hardware, pickup cables, connect cables, output cable and battery cable.

At Riffs & Licks Music, we think this active humbucker set is a particularly good fit for players who need the 19 mm long-shaft version and want the JH set’s aggressive attack and fuller neck response with a limited-edition sandblasted finish.
