EMG HET JH James Hetfield Signature Active Humbucker Pickup Set Brushed Gold

James Hetfield’s Active Pickup Design with Added Low-End Clarity

The EMG JH James Hetfield Signature Set takes the output and immediacy of an active humbucker setup and combines it with more of the punch and clarity associated with passive pickups. The JH-N neck pickup uses individual ceramic poles with larger, taller cores than the EMG 60 design, producing stronger attack, higher output and a fuller low end.

The JH-B bridge pickup takes a different approach, using steel pole pieces rather than the bar magnets found in an EMG 81. This lowers inductance and keeps the bass end cleaner while retaining a tight, immediate attack for heavier rhythm and lead work.

This version uses Brushed Gold stainless steel Metal Works caps for a distinctive finish. EMG’s Solderless Install System is included, with two 25k Volume pots, two 25k Tone pots, battery bus, stereo output jack, two-pickup in/out bus, mounting hardware, pickup cables, connect cables, output cable and battery cable.

At Riffs & Licks Music, we think this active humbucker set makes sense for players who want high output without sacrificing definition, with a tighter bridge response, fuller neck sound and standout Brushed Gold presentation.
