Op-Amp Big Muff Crunch With Expanded High-End Control

The Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi 2 with Tone Wicker is an analogue fuzz, distortion and sustainer pedal based on the long-lost Op-Amp Big Muff circuit from the 1970s. Its two dual op-amp design delivers singing sustain, heavy gain and a distinctive mids-forward bark that sets it apart from the classic Big Muff Pi sound.

Volume, Tone and Sustain controls provide familiar Big Muff shaping, while the added switches expand the available range. The Tone switch bypasses the tone circuit for an unfiltered full-range fuzz, and the 3-position Wicker switch opens high-frequency filters to add two levels of extra brightness and clarity. This is especially useful when using darker Tone settings or when the pedal needs to cut through a dense mix.

The soft footswitch supports both latching and momentary operation, allowing standard on-off switching or brief bursts of fuzz when held down. The pedal runs from a 9V battery or an optional 9.6V DC 200mA adapter and draws 20mA.
