D'Addario EXL125 XL Nickel Wound strings use a 9–46 Super Light Top/Regular Bottom gauge, combining lighter treble strings with heavier bass strings. The 9-gauge top end keeps bends and lead work flexible, while the 46-gauge bottom adds more low-end weight and a firmer feel for rhythm playing.

The wound strings use nickel-plated steel wrap wire over high-carbon steel Hex-Core construction. This gives the set a bright, versatile electric guitar tone, while the hexagonal core helps the winding sit consistently for dependable feel and intonation.

EXL125 strings are uncoated and round wound, keeping the attack direct and the feel familiar for players who prefer a traditional nickel-wound string. They are made in the USA at D'Addario's New York production facility.
