D'Addario EXL115 XL Nickel Wound strings use an 11–49 Medium gauge for players who want more resistance under the fingers than a lighter electric set. The added tension gives bends and fretting a firmer feel, while the heavier gauge also brings increased volume without moving into an especially heavy setup.

The wound strings use nickel-plated steel wrap wire over high-carbon steel Hex-Core construction. This combination gives the set a bright, versatile electric guitar tone, while the hexagonal core helps the winding sit consistently for dependable feel and intonation.

EXL115 strings are uncoated and round wound, keeping the attack direct and the feel familiar for players who prefer a traditional nickel-wound string. They are made in the USA at D'Addario's New York production facility.
