D'Addario EJ38 Phosphor Bronze Light strings are designed for 12-string acoustic guitars, using a 10–47 gauge that balances comfortable playability with useful volume and projection. As D'Addario's most popular 12-string acoustic set, they are intended to work across all makes and models of 12-string acoustic guitar.

The wound strings use phosphor bronze wrap wire over hexagonal high-carbon steel cores, producing the warm, balanced tonal character associated with D'Addario Phosphor Bronze strings. On a 12-string, that construction supports the layered, ringing character of paired strings while keeping the set versatile enough for a broad range of acoustic styles.

EJ38 strings are uncoated and round wound, retaining the direct feel of a traditional acoustic string. They are made in the USA at D'Addario's New York production facility.
