Compact All-Solid Mahogany with a Short 23.5-Inch Scale

The Cole Clark CCSPM1E-MMAH Studio Series puts an all-solid African Mahogany build into a compact Mini Parlour body. The solid A Grade African Mahogany top, back and sides give it an even, focused response without the pronounced low-end rumble associated with some other tonewoods, making the smaller body well suited to articulate acoustic playing and amplification.

Its 596.9 mm (23.5") short scale reduces the reach between frets and gives the strings a more relaxed feel than a longer-scale acoustic. The African Mahogany neck is paired with a 304.8 mm (12") Rosewood fingerboard, 19 frets and a relatively broad 46 mm (1.8") Graph Tech Tusq nut, giving the fretting hand and picking fingers a little more room to work.

The PG3mk2 system combines a strip piezo, contact sensor and microphone. The piezo handles the lower frequencies, the contact sensor takes the mids, and the microphone enters above 6 kHz to capture additional high-frequency detail. Spanish Heel construction and Cole Clark’s Plek fret and nut finishing are also part of the Studio Series build, which is completed partly in China and partly in Australia.
