Vox
For Vox Amps, we recommend The Guitar Centre at the Gabba (click here to shop all available Vox Amps)
Aside from the occasional second-hand amp, we don't currently stock Vox amps at Riffs & Licks Music, but our mates at The Guitar Centre at the Gabba do! If you've landed here looking for a Vox AC15, AC30 or another Vox amp for sale in Australia, they're well worth checking out.
If you're comparing guitar amps before choosing a Vox, we stock a wide range of electric guitar amps at Riffs & Licks Music. Fender amps are worth exploring if you like responsive cleans and the transition into warm edge-of-breakup drive, with models such as the valve Blues Junior and digital Tone Master range offering different approaches to that experience. For another distinctly British alternative, Orange amps have their own unmistakable voice, with everything from valve designs to solid-state models such as the Crush 35RT delivering punchy mids, immediate attack and British crunch.
About Vox Amps
Vox amps have helped define the sound of British electric guitar for more than six decades. Founded in the late 1950s, Vox became inseparable from the British music explosion of the 1960s, with the legendary AC30 providing the bright, articulate cleans, chiming response and harmonically rich overdrive heard across countless recordings. Its association with players including The Beatles, Brian May and many others turned the distinctive diamond grille cloth and Vox logo into some of the most recognisable sights in guitar amplification.
The AC30 remains the archetypal Vox amp, but the range extends well beyond that famous 30-watt valve design. The smaller AC15 brings much of the classic Vox character to a more manageable format, while the broader catalogue includes compact practice amps, modelling amplifiers and other modern designs alongside traditional valve combos. What connects them is the distinctive Vox approach to guitar tone: lively cleans, plenty of upper-mid character and an overdrive response that can move from jangly and articulate to raw, harmonically rich British crunch as you push the amp harder.
