The Behringer SURGES is a voltage controlled multi-mode Eurorack filter module offering high-pass, band-pass and low-pass outputs in a compact 8 HP format. Band-pass and low-pass responses are switchable between 2-pole and 4-pole slopes, allowing either gentler filtering or steeper, more pronounced cut-offs. A 2-pole setting retains more harmonic content, while 4-pole filtering produces tighter, more focused attenuation suited to precise sound shaping.

The circuit is fully analogue, built around 2164 and 13700 semiconductors, delivering a smooth, “liquid” tonal character across a wide 18 Hz to 18 kHz frequency range. Loudness compensation maintains perceived level as resonance increases, which helps prevent volume drop when pushing the filter toward self-oscillation. Frequency and resonance can be voltage controlled, with dedicated CV inputs and attenuverting for controlled modulation depth.

Separate high-pass, band-pass and low-pass outputs enable parallel processing within modular patches. With 35 mA draw on both +12 V and -12 V rails, SURGES integrates cleanly into standard Eurorack systems.
