Build Envelopes, LFOs and Sequences from Six Flexible Modulation Segments

The Behringer STEPS is a six-stage Eurorack function generator that can operate as an envelope, LFO or four-step sequencer, with each segment configurable independently. Ramp, Hold and Step modes determine how each segment reaches its target voltage, while the corresponding slider and control let you shape its behaviour and timing.

How you patch the Gate inputs determines how segments are grouped. For example, patching Gate 3 combines segments 3 through 6 into a four-stage envelope, while patching Gate 6 creates a single-segment envelope. You can also patch all six independently for six separate one-stage functions. Individual segment duration ranges from 1 ms to 16 seconds, and single or grouped segments can be looped for repeating modulation and LFO-style movement.

Multiple STEPS modules can also be chained, with six units providing up to 36 segments for much more complex modulation structures.
