Classic 8/12-Bit Sampling with Deep Sequencing and Live Performance Control
The Behringer BMX is a hybrid sampling drum machine built around an authentic 8/12-bit sound engine, eight drum voices and 117 included drum sounds. A Line input lets you record and store your own samples, while eight DACs with variable sample rate let you shape the gritty, characterful response associated with early digital drum machines.
The 64-step sequencer supports polymeter, Step Repeat, Note Repeat, real-time triggering, Track Mute and Track Solo, with storage for up to 192 patterns and 8 songs. Twenty-four velocity-sensitive pads with aftertouch make live programming more expressive, while parameter chaining lets settings such as tempo, swing, flam, probability, mutes, solos and FX assignments change with patterns or songs.
The integrated Wave Designer adjusts attack and sustain per voice, while the dual-mode analogue filter switches between low-pass and high-pass operation. Filter cutoff movements can be recorded as automation and edited in the sequencer. Eight independent analogue outputs, MIDI In/Out/Thru, USB, three trigger outputs and multiple sync options make the BMX equally capable as a standalone performance centre or part of a larger hardware setup.
At Riffs & Licks Music, we think this sampling drum machine is ideal for beatmakers and live electronic musicians who want classic low-bit sampling character combined with modern sequencing, automation and extensive hardware connectivity.
