The Behringer BM-17 VCO is an analogue frequency box built around a voltage-controlled oscillator, turning a pedal into a standalone sound source. At its core, the VCO can track incoming audio when latched, or operate independently as a free-running oscillator. This flexibility allows the unit to function as a synth voice, frequency modulator or aggressive effect generator rather than a conventional stompbox.

Drive, Mix, FM amount and Envelope amount controls how the oscillator interacts with your input signal. Envelope control enables dynamic frequency modulation that responds to playing intensity, which creates expressive sweeps and synth-style articulation. The Blend control allows seamless mixing between clean input and oscillator output, making it possible to simply reinforce a tone or to transform it completely.

Extensive rear-panel connectivity includes CV inputs for frequency, wave, envelope and mix, plus envelope and mix CV outputs. With 0–5 V CV compatibility, the BM-17 integrates with modular systems and other BM series units. Standard 9 V DC power supports pedalboard use, while compact dimensions suit desktop setups.
