Programmable Analogue Synthesis with Motion Sequencing and Hands-On Control
The Behringer AKS Mini is a portable polyphonic analogue synthesizer built around three VCOs, a classic VCF and VCA-based signal path, with circuitry inspired by 1970s AKS designs. Each oscillator offers variable saw and square waveforms, while an LFO with four waveforms and an envelope generator provide modulation for pitch, filter cutoff, VCA and VCF behaviour.
A 2-axis joystick can control two assignable parameters at once, giving you a direct way to move through a sound while playing. The 16-step motion sequencer goes further by recording knob movements as part of the sequence, with 10 memory slots for storing these evolving patterns.
Twenty-seven touch-sensitive keys support Poly and Unison play modes, while a digital spring reverb adds spatial depth. USB-C provides power from a smartphone, power bank or computer, with Sync and comprehensive MIDI including NRPN/CC parameter control and bulk load/save.
At Riffs & Licks Music, we think this desktop synthesizer is ideal for electronic musicians who want compact analogue sound design with programmable motion, tactile performance control and modern MIDI integration.
